Three Unforgettable Experiences in One Day - Whales, a Caribbean Island, and a Waterfall in the Heart of the Tropical Rainforest
Join us on a unique excursion combining the opportunity to observe majestic humpback whales, relax on a beautiful Caribbean island, and enjoy an adventure in the heart of the Dominican Republic’s stunning natural surroundings. Get ready for a day filled with unforgettable experiences, breathtaking scenery, and the authentic atmosphere of the Dominican Republic.
Our journey begins with an early morning drive to the charming town of Sabana de la Mar, where we will enjoy breakfast together. We will then board a boat and head out to sea for one of the Caribbean’s most spectacular natural experiences — whale watching.
During their annual migration, humpback whales arrive in the waters of Samaná Bay to find suitable conditions for mating and giving birth to their calves. We will have the opportunity to observe these magnificent marine mammals in their natural habitat and, with a little luck, witness their enormous bodies, spectacular leaps out of the water, or powerful tail slaps against the surface. It is a fascinating experience that reveals yet another beautiful side of the Dominican Republic.
Whale watching is available only during the whale season, approximately from mid-January to the end of March. As whales are wild animals, their presence and specific behavior cannot be guaranteed.
After this unique experience, we will head to the famous Bacardi Island, also known as Cayo Levantado. This tropical paradise will enchant you with its white sandy beaches, crystal-clear turquoise waters, and swaying coconut palms. You will have time to swim, relax on the beach, and enjoy the true Caribbean atmosphere.
After our time on the island, we will enjoy lunch, either directly on the island or on the mainland, depending on the day’s arrangements. Then, we will swap the ocean waves for an adventure on land and head into the heart of the tropical countryside aboard a safari truck.
Our next destination is the magnificent El Limón Waterfall, hidden among the lush greenery of the Samaná Peninsula. From the parking area, we will make our way to the waterfall on horseback. The approximately 20-minute ride will allow us to discover the surrounding nature and experience the authentic charm of the Dominican countryside.
We will spend approximately 45 minutes at the waterfall. There will be time to admire its beauty, take photographs, and, if conditions permit, cool off in the natural pool.
After visiting the waterfall, we will return to the parking area, board the safari truck, and head back to the port. We will then take a boat back to Sabana de la Mar, where our transportation will be waiting to take us back to the hotel.
